Roads and railways: DRC presents a 22,800 km connectivity programme

Industry watch · 13 October 2026
A 13 October 2026 publication by the DRC’s foreign trade ministry describes a 22,800-kilometre road and railway connectivity programme, mentioning Banana, Lobito and Peace corridors and links to the Central Corridor.
CPL’s editorial perspective
For shipment planning, an announced connection is a development to monitor, rather than an entirely available route. CPL’s editorial reading is to follow sections actually open, transfer points and possible combinations of transport modes. For each request, origin, final destination and cargo constraints remain the starting information. Transit times must be assessed against infrastructure genuinely usable when the shipment takes place.
